**drumroll**
I’ve teased this in a previous update and I am immensely delighted to reveal the cover art for In the Shadow of the Fall!
BEHOLD!!!!!!!!
Our intrepid protagonist, Ashâke, stands in a boat as she channels the power of the wind, flanked by the goddesses Oshun and Yemoja.
The art is by the very talented Godwin Akpan, under the creative direction of Tor.com’ Christine Foltzer.
It of course references a very vital scene in the book. I’ve always been one of those readers who derives extreme pleasure from reading a scene and realising that it is rendered in the cover art (but also coming upon where the title is
cleverly inserted in the prose). I hope your reactions are equally pleasant, and exciting.
PREORDERS are open. So please please please preorder, add to your want-to-read on Goodreads and tell a friend to tell a friend to tell a friend. Word of mouth remains the best to spread knowledge about a book.
Here’s what some fine folks have to say about the book:
"The novella of the year has arrived! Ogundiran’s story of an acolyte’s lost faith is electrifying, terrifying, and tender all at the same time. There’s more wonder and creativity packed into these pages than a book five times its length, and I’m already aching for the next chapter in Ashâke’s adventure."—Mark Oshiro, #1 New York Times bestselling author
"Ogundiran unveils a world that is both in recovery and on the cusp of collapse, a brilliant tension that he reinforces with a propulsive plot, dynamic imagery, and a protagonist who holds within her the seeds of hope. I'm already looking forward to book two."—Moses Ose Utomi
Until next time,
